Invitation to the 8th Slovenian Social Science Conference



The 8th Slovenian Social Science Conference organised by the

Slovenian National Committee of the UNESCO Management of Social Transformations Program (MOST),

Junior Sociologists Network of the International Sociological Association (JSN of ISA),

School of Advanced Social Studies, Nova Gorica (Fakulteta za uporabne družbene študije v Novi Gorici)

”Contemporary social transformations: Reflecting inter-cultural encounters”

will take place in a coastal town Piran, Slovenia, from 15-17 September 2016


The aim of the conference is to embrace a variety of issues reflecting and addressing the contemporary social transformations resulting from inter-cultural encounters. It welcomes a wide range of theoretical and/or empirical approaches towards the issues and thus to encourage interdisciplinary debates on intercultural challenges but also seek practical suggestions in terms of policy recommendations for the decision makers.
